Our founder & CEO Warrick Chu (recipient of Business in Vancouver’s 2015 Top Forty under 40 Award), proudly started Qoola on December 8th 2008, before frozen yogurt was the trend it is today. The idea that got us started still drives us today: the belief that dessert can be something decadent, while still superbly nutritious.
Qoola started as a single store located in the West End district of Vancouver, BC, near beautiful English Bay. With only two machines and a total of four flavours, our team members swirled frozen yogurt for eager customers, whether they were on a late night date, replenishing after a seaside bike ride or taking the kids out for a delicious treat. Warrick worked hard to make his dream a reality, even sorting through the recycling each night to make sure nothing was missed.
Six months later, Qoola’s second location opened, and it has been growing ever since. Through all of our growth, we are still rooted in our passion for healthier, more nutritious, and premium products. That formula has led us to where we are today—Canada’s leading self-serve frozen yogurt retailer and 2016 Georgia Straight 19th Annual Golden Plates Reader’s Choice Winner for Best Frozen Yogurt, with 18 stores nationwide, one food truck, and more stores on the way.
